Almost Amish Book Review
The latest book I read for Bethany House was Almost Amish by Kathryn Cushman. I loved this book! I loved the plot of the book, but more importantly it caused me to think about my life and about what gifts God has given me and how I can discover them and best use them.
Loved the take on Jesus feeding the 5000 on pages 103-104: "It wasn't the fact that God fed them; it was that He used what the kid already had....No, the kid had something very common and not very fancy, which he turned over to God, and God used it in a powerful way....We're each charged with using the talents we were given, not try to live up to someone else's."
I will most likely read this book again in the future, it had a lot of good lessons in it for me and it was a very enjoyable read. Good plot, complex characters, and thought-provoking.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
